Historic Buildings that are a Rich Past's Heritage
İstanbul attracts thousands of tourists worldwide with its historical places and architecture reflecting its multicultural identity and rich history. Due to its strategic location, the city, which has been home to numerous civilisations throughout history, also holds many historical buildings showing traces of different eras and cultures. The "Historical Peninsula" houses many of the city's iconic buildings. Surrounded on one side by the ancient city walls and on the other by the Bosphorus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Golden Horn, the peninsula attracts tourists and travellers with the Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, İstanbul Archeology Museum and Topkapı Palace.

İstanbul’s towers are also must-see attractions. The Galata Tower, the famous structure on İstanbul’s skyline, offers incredible panoramic views of the city from its observation floor. On the other hand, the Maiden’s Tower, the iconic structure of the İstanbul Bosphorus, enables its visitors to watch the beautiful İstanbul from an entirely different point of view.

A Unique Blend of Art and Culture
İstanbul, known for its rich historical heritage, is a real treasure for art lovers, with its museums that combine the cultural dynamism of the age with traditions, modern art galleries, cultural centres, streets hosting artists and designers, concert venues, and an ever-increasing number of cultural and artistic events. Before visiting İstanbul, check the June calendars of modern art centres such as Atatürk Cultural Centre (AKM) and Santral İstanbul to reserve seats for different shows and events. You can feel the pulse of contemporary art by visiting museums such as Pera Museum, Atlas Cinema Museum, and İstanbul Modern.

The food culture that amazes everyone who discovers it
From stylish chef dinner tables to the simplest yet most delicious dishes, İstanbul is a real paradise for every foodie. And this makes İstanbul one of the world's top gastro cities. The special Turkish cuisine, shaped by many different cultures that İstanbul has hosted over the centuries, is one of the main reasons to visit this city.

    A real shopping heaven
With its historical bazaars, luxury boutiques, and designer stores, İstanbul provides a rich shopping experience to its visitors. You may feel the city's ancient ambience and buy souvenirs such as authentic handmade carpets, tiled ceramics, and traditional handicrafts by visiting historical shopping sites such as the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar.
